Principles of the Organic Landscape Association
Active Members are expected to adhere to the following list of principles. Members will not be given referrals or be considered Active unless the OLA Statement of Principles below is signed and dated.
As an Active Member of the Organic Landscape Alliance, I accept and adhere to the following principles:
- I neither use in either spray or granular form; chemical herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides; synthetic fertilizers; sewage sludge or urea; nor do I contract out to someone who does so.
- I use proper planting plans, species selection, pruning techniques, soil amendments, insect control and weed management through good cultural practices to improve the landscapes that I work on.
- I never have to leave a “Pesticide Used” sign on a property after I have visited, except for use of the low-impact organic products: corn gluten, and acetic acid.
- I guarantee that I will stay apprised of new research, techniques and processes to ensure that I have all the available up-to-date information on products and studies being conducted into lawn care and landscaping industry.
